What might be the source of material for the rings: yes both do. Where does neptune"s heat originate: uranus" heat or rather lack of heat is just not understood. It has the lowest heat signature of any jovian planet (close to that of earth), and there"s no obvious reason. The planet radiates almost exactly the same amount of heat that it receives from the sun which is not much! Because uranus is so different to other planets in its obliquity, maybe the event that produced the weird obliquity also caused the heat energy of the planet to be lost. Maybe, but just how that would work is quite unknown: neptune has more internal heat than uranus, and part of that may be generated by radioactive decay in the rock minerals in its interior. Some of the energy may be released by the friction of denser material falling inward.
