Had a wife named domitia and 1 son who died when he became emperor. Domitia fell in love with an actor so he divorced her but then took her back. He held many games and competitions for prose declamation in greek and latin, lyre playing etc. and races for women. At these events he wore greek shoes and toga and had the priests and flaviales dressed the same. Gave large gifts of money to the people 3 times. Rebuild: capitoline temple (but only his name was inscribed, none of the earlier builders), built a new temple on the capitoline in honour of jupiter the guardian and the forum which now has the name nerva. Military: by choice: chatti, necessity: sarmartians, 2 campaigns against dacia. Never gave any indication, that he was greedy before and for the most part during his reign, wouldn"t accept inheritances left to him by others.
