Dna technologies techniques to isolate, purify, analyze, and manipulate dna sequences. Biotechnology also consists of things such as the use of yeast to bake bread and make beer. There are 3 main sources of sequences of dna that are most commonly used in genetic research: dna sequences that can be extracted from the genome of particular viruses and cells, using special enzymes. An mrna template is used to synthesize dna with the reverse transcriptase enzyme. Specific dna sequences can be created w/ the use of a dna synthesizer, which performs automated chemical synthesis based on computer input. Once a specific dna sequence is artificially created or obtained from nature, the number of copies that can be made of the sequence increases rapidly.
