Found that in 15/28 cases the bhuta or malignant spirit possessing hindu men and women turned out to be a muslim. They would possess them to do crazy things. E. g. a priest possessed to eat kababs. Those who had uncontrollable cravings or rage blamed muslims not their gods. The division of humans into exclusive groups creates two psychological functions: The rst is seeing oneself superior according to other groups. Creating a narcissistic realm of well being in one"s own group. Groups tend to see themselves as closer to a purer divine state while denigrating and banishing others to the periphery. This superiority projected through each group"s own myths and rituals. Operation blue star heightened awareness of cultural identities among many sikhs.
