The article explores a selection of the most successful public art that the us and australia have witnessed since the onset of the aids debacle. The most visible street poster campaign in the us was initiated by american foundation for aids. The concept was to ask big corporations to sponsor the public art campaign and the remaining money would go towards amfar for research: that way, awareness for hiv/aids epidemic was being raised as well as funds for research. Fury was banned by the chicago transit authority for showing an interracial homosexual couple kissing. Because of the public"s overall negligence and refusal to accept that hiv/aids was solely a gay disease rather than acknowledging that it can affect anyone, minority groups ended up suffering in future years.
