Social learning situations in which the learner monitors events involving other individuals and chooses later actions based on their observations. Ba(cid:374)dura"s bo(cid:271)o doll viewing an adult acting aggressively influenced later behaviors. Modeling is prerequisite for all kinds of copying. Copying that replicates an outcome without replicating specific motor acts is called emulation. Imitation by humans is thought to require some form higher cognitive processing i. e. some awareness that you are indeed copying an action perspective taking (taking the place of another) is one method of this and facilitates imitation. There is some reproduction of actions without copying; by contagion, observational conditioning, and stimulus enhancement: contagion; see a yawn, you yawn i. e. inborn tendency to react emotionally to sights or sounds.
