Somatopsychic effect: disease of genetic predispositions to illness that affect personality. Diathesis-stress model: model of disease that suggests that although a predisposition to illness exists because of genetics or upbringing, the illness itself will not appear unless or until it is elicited by the environment. Diathesis: the often hereditary predisposition of the body to disease or disorder.
