Cyber emotional intelligence- examines the assumptions that we make of people based on their online personalities. Psychology (official definition) - the scientific study of behaviour, thought and experience, and how they can be affected by physical, mental, social and environmental factors. Study of behaviour (can include perception, thoughts and emotions) Scientific method: way of learning about the world through collecting observations, developing theories to explain them, and using theories to explain them. Hypothesis: a testable prediction about process that can observed and measured. Rejected hypothesis tested again + can change existing theory. Scientists vs. astrologists ( astrologists are referred to as pseudoscience ) Pseudoscience: an idea presented as science but does not actually utilize the basic principles of scientific thinking or procedure. Theory: an explanation of a broad range of observations that also generates new hypothesis and integrates numerous findings into a coherent whole.
