Document Summary

Must be scientifically literate and critical thinking. Objectivity assumes that certain facts about the world can be observed and tested independently from the individual who describes them. Everyone should be able to agree on these facts give the same tools, methods and context. Subjective their knowledge of the event is shaped by prior beliefs, expectations, experiences and even their mood. Objective means that you look at a matter without bias. You just take the facts into account without any outside opinions involved. Meanwhile, subjective means that along with facts you put personal opinions and feelings into an argument. This may then make your argument biased and in turn even invalid. Five characteristics of quality scientific research: based on measurements that are objective, valid, and reliable. Validity: the degree that you are actually measuring what you think you are measuring. Reliability: the degree that your test gives consistent an stable answers, over time or populations: it can be generalized.
