Team of seven or eight observers entered people"s bedroom"s and offices and rated the personality types of the occupants with standardized personality tests. Not only did the observer reach close consensus on many measures of personality, but their ratings also matched up with how the occupants rated their own personality. Personality: as a characteristics pattern of thinking, feeling and behaving that is unique to each individual and remains relatively consistent over time and situations. two broad approaches have emerged the idiographic and the nomothetic. Idiographic approach: focusing on creating detailed descriptions of specific person"s unique personality characteristics. Examples of this would be trying to figure yourself out , why your cousin bobby is so weird.
