The word intelligence comes from two root words: inter, which means between, and legere, which means to choose, pick out, read. In addition to enhancing one"s ability to explain enigmas, intelligence is thought to generate more behavioral flexibility: intelligence: the human ability to use knowledge, solve problems, understand complex ideas, learn quickly, and adapt to environmental challenges. Iq: a score on a normed test of intelligence (= average iq is 100 with a deviation of 15) James flyn: there are three main explanations developed to identify the precise cause(s) of the apparent change in iq scores over time. The first explanation involves an overall improvement in nutrition and medical care over time. Analytic thinking focus on objects+ attributs, independent of the context we found it in. Holistic thinking context really matters, focuses on relasionships. Using our knowledge: reasoning: using information to determine if a conclusion is valid or reasonable.
