47 views6 pages

Document Summary

The plastic injection molding process can be used to produce thermoplastic parts with great accuracy, high quality, and high speed. Plastic material in the form of pellets is melted until soft enough to be injected under pressure to fill a mold. The materials" lightweight potential can be increased by foam injection molding by adding chemical or physical blowing agent with plastic pellets, it"s a common way in industry to achieve material lower density. The structure and procedure of two processes are shown below. Im is one of the preferred methods for manufacturing parts because it has multiple advantages. The first advantage is, due to high pressure that added by clamping plate, its easy to design complex and intricate shapes which means we can add more details to the design of the part. The second advantage is that the actual molding process is very quick. The filling and ejection processes hardly take times, so more parts can be produced by mold.
