Folk art artists are usually anonymous and more into the continuance of traditional styles, symbols and designs. Various forms=toys, pottery, paintings, textiles, woodwork, decorations. Decorating easter eggs originated in egypt as a rite of fertility and symbol of rebirth also an ethnic tradition in ukraine called pysanky. Russian nesting dolls used to portray the soul of russia but can also be used to for cultural resistance like the gorbi dolls that represent russian politicians.
