Doctor samuel george morton collected brains from different ethnicities. Packed bb-sized shot into a skull until it was full and was able to compared brain sizes. He announces that whites had the largest followed by asians, and leaving blacks at the bottom. Claimed to show that the system of social inequality had natural, biological roots. His ideas used to justify colonization and slavery. 3 main issues compromise his findings: can not differ between white and black skulls, study was on too small a sample of 72 skulls, 71% of skulls he said were black were female, naturally smaller. Peter sadiford argued that canada be selective on the immigrants it lets in. Iq tests were given and he encouraged the recruitment of british, german, and danish people. However japanese and chinese had the highest scoring which he did not expect so he dismissed it as a few clever asians. Similarly in the states jewish and african people had lower scores.
