People would rather communicate with their co-workers through email rather than speaking to them. Social media allows us to ignore what we would like, and see what we want to. Many of the online friends we have, we don"t actually know them or would consider going out with them for coffee. Mass communication: the transmission of messages by a person or group through a device to a large audience. Printing flyers and posting them used to communicate the message. Mass media: forms of communication produced by a few people for consumption by the masses. Used to communicate to a mass audience. Painting and engravings on cave walls were used to communicate their ideas and emotions during the upper paleolithic era. Easy to interpret and still there after thousands of years.
