The primary function of the brain is to produce behaviour, or movement. Without stimulation of the brain, it can not orient and direct the body to produce an appropriate response. The organs of the nervous system convert information from the world into biological activity that produces perception. Our mental creation of reality is based on not only the sensory information received, but also on the cognitive processes that each of us might use to interact with the incoming information. When it comes to visual perception, dogs see very little in colour but our world is rich in colour. Dogs have great hearing and they can even hear things that the human ear can not pick up on. Evolution fosters adaptability; it equips each species with a view of the world that helps it survive. Neuroplasticity the nervous system"s potential for physical or chemical change that enhances its adaptability to its environmental change and its ability to compensate for injury.
