Document Summary

Chapter 3: spatial vision: from spots to stripes. Our neurons in our visual cortex to seek stripes, edges, and lines. This form of idea is called contrast. Contrast the difference between an object and the background or between lighter and darker parts of the same object. As you walk a bit forward, you will see that you can see which side includes vertical stripes and which is horizontal stripes. As you record that you are able to see the vertical horizontal stripes then you have measured your own acuity. Acuity the measurement of your sharpness or the smallest details that you can see with your vision. Now one single visual angle is considered one cycle of the grating that you will perceive, the stripes. Think of the cycles as the number of gratings. E. g. you"re looking at a pair of black stripe with a white stripe, this means it has 1 cycle.
