Document Summary

Differential reinforcement of alternative behaviour (dra): behavioural procedure used to increase the frequency of a desirable behaviour and to decrease the frequency of undesirable behaviours. Differential reinforcement of an incompatible behaviour (dri): the alternative behaviour is physically incompatible with the problem behaviour and therefore, the two behaviours cant occur at the same time. Differential reinforcement of communication (drc) or functional communication training: the individual learns to make a communication response that is functionally equivalent to the problem behaviour. Differential reinforcement of other behaviour (dro): reinforcing the absence of the problem behaviour. Whole interval dro: the problem behaviour must be absent for the whole interval for the reinforcer to be delivered. Momentary dro: the problem behaviour must be absent at the end of the interval for the reinforcer to be delivered. Differential reinforcement of low rates of responding (drl): unlike dro, you don"t reinforce the absence of the behaviour, rather, you reinforce a lower rate of the problem behaviour.
