Teaching steve to follow a consistent preputt routine. Steve was a young pro golfer on the canadian pga tour, who has yet to win a pro tournament this is due partly to his inconsistent putting. So he decided to compose himself and follow a consistent preputting routine in order to get more consistent putting. Thus he decided that he would list out the specific steps that he wanted to follow on each occasion. He check each steps at each trial and if he misses one his friend reminded him. After the 10 trials, he did a practice round with his friend. 3 weeks following the routine, steve won his first tour event. Behaviour chain or stimulus-response chain: is a consistent sequence of stimuli and responses that occur closely to each other in time and in which the last response is typically followed by a reinforcer.
