PSYB45H3 Chapter Notes - Chapter 21: Stimulus Control, Dynamometer, Intellectual Disability
Document Summary
Chapter 21: direct behavioral assessment: what to record & how (psyb45: when measuring behavior directly, 6 general characteristics should be considered, topography, amount. Topography of behavior: topography of a response is specific muscle movements involved in making the response, pic prompts are sometimes useful for helping observers to identify variations in topography of a response. 2 measures of amount of a given behavior are frequency & duration. Avg slope of line over interval indicates how many responses occurred during the time period (ex. slope of line in a cumulative grao indicates the rate of response. Line can never decrease, flate line indicates 0 responding. Usually preffered over a frequency graph when coming 2 of more behaviors/conditions and when the differences are small. Intensity, magnitude/force of response: assessments of intensity often utilize instrumentation, voice meter for voice loudness, dynamometer for the strength of grip pressure.
