PSYB45H3 Chapter Notes - Chapter 28: Applied Behavior Analysis, Behaviorism, Espn Bottomline
Document Summary
Techniques of applied behavior analysis are highly effective. These techniques are generally at least as effective as other methods in changing behavior. Even though the techniques of behavior analysis possess significant strengths, they have some limitations too. The field has some important challenges for the future behavior as quickly as desired or expected. These difficulties suggest that we can improve the field of applied behavior analysis by enhancing the care with which interventions are designed and implemented. Addressing all reinforcers from a behavior problem improves the success of the program and enables behavior analysts to apply behavior analysis methods more effectively. Behavior analysis techniques have shown some promise in the prevention of human suffering and problem behaviors. Some tentative evidence suggests that behavioral methods may be useful in efforts to prevent medical and psychological problems, but much more research is needed to improve the methods and demonstrate their effects convincingly.
