Obsessive compulsive and post traumatic stress. Anxiety an unpleasant feeling of fear and apprehension accompanied by increased physiological arousal. In learning theory, it is considered a drive that mediates between a threatening situation and avoidance behaviour. Anxiety can be assessed by self-report, by measuring physiological arousal + by observing avert behaviour. Anxiety, ocd + ptsd are all of their own disorder now due to the dsm-5 (ptsd is under stress disorder) Two components: physiological [ex) higher heart rates] + the cognitive [ex) worry] Anxiety disorder disorders in which fear or tension is overriding and the primary disturbance. Most common psychological disorder + majority of canadians say it interfers. *this covers most of what used to be referred to as nervosa w/ home, school, work + social life. About 1/5 have some kind of anxiety disorder. Lmr (lifetime morbid risk mdd (episode), specific phobia, social phobia, 12 month prevalence data specific phobia, mde, social phobia.
