Luther had a fit during choir which symbolized the low point of luther"s identity struggle- the point where he felt cut off from all that provided his life meaning. This incident was sandwiched between 2 other key incidents: The first event: luther was following the career path sketched out by his father. A bolt of lightning struck near him sending him into a convulsion. This caused him to be committed to the catholic church. He became a monk, however he was too intense, and too passionate.
