Fertilization another term for this can be conception, in other words, it can be the sperm or ovum (sex cells) that combines to create single cell called zygote. Zygote produced by the sex cells and then producing multiple of these cells in order to create a baby. Conception will occur only when a male"s sperm cell penetrates a female"s egg cell. When sperms are exposed in the vagina it will try to swim through the cervix (the opening of the uterus) and into the fallopian tubes.
