The form of the political conflict in bottom billion countries make them distinctive o. Sometimes violence is prolonged , a civil war, other times it"s over swiftly, a coup d"etat. These 2 forms of political conflict are costly and repetitive. 73% of ppl in bottom billion societies have been through a civil war or in one currently. Other countries have had civil wars and been done with it, but for low income countries, the chances of war becoming a trap are higher. One of the factors known to impede growth is war. Author and friend sought to investigate whether proneness to war was explicable in terms of differences in growth. Rebel movements themselves justify their actions in terms of a number of grievencies : repression, exploitation, exclusion. Can"t be trusted as their grienvences can be self-serving o.
