Health studies is made of - many social sciences (geo, pysch, socio, polisci, anthro), humanities (english, arts, history), wide-ranging empirically or conceptually based elds (cultural studies, women"s studies), professional practices (nursing, social work) Di erent disciplines ask di erent questions and then you have di erent ways of understanding a topic. Sociology: study of institutions and the subject , focus on how social structures shape the experiences of individuals within them. Health psychology: studies how people think and behave in relation to health and illness, mind and body are linked - examines physical health and daily stress link. Geography: how do space and place a ect wellbeing, examine natural and arti cial environments in relation to health of a person, addressing issues like proximity to health care, sources of disease, etc.
