Psychosomatic disorders: actual physical illness caused by thoughts: this is different fro somatoform disorders, mainly due to stress. Pain and hypochondriasis: body dismorphic disorders. Somatoform symptoms: symptoms suggests a physical disorders, symptoms can not be explained physiologically, symptoms are often described in a dramatic way, other disorders such as anxiety, mood and personality disorders often co- exists. One pseudo neurological symptoms: such as headache: psychological origin, its more common in women than men. Conversion disorder: physical symptoms suggest neurological problems. Sensory impairment in any modality: no physical reason for it. Pain disorder : main symptom is the pain : but can not find the source of the pain, may be exacerbated by psychosocial factors.
