Cognitive: alterations in consciousness and spec thoughts they may have while experiencing a particular emotion. Behavioural: responses to the consq of certain emotions. Amount of fear is experienced in proportion to the threat. Concerns are unrealistic; source of anxiety either cannot hurt them or very unlike to occur. Amount of fear exp is out of proportion to the harm the threat could cause. Fear response continues or is persistent even after the threat is no longer present; additionally, the person may exp a great deal of anticipatory anxiety. Unpredictable: job layoffs, accidents, natural disasters. Significant change in one"s life or a challenge of one"s capabilities or self-concepts: exams, new r"ships, tough new job, divorce, pos events or change are also stressful (tho unlikely to have the same impact as neg occurrences) Body mobilizes to confront the threat: resistance.
