We are looking at how learning in organizations takes place. Learning is needed in order to change peoples" behaviours. Studies show that behaviour is also a function of people"s personalities. Personality: stable set of psychological characteristics that influences the way an individual interacts with their environment, and how they think, behave, and feel about something. Interactionist approach: organizational behaviour is a function of dispositions and situations; in order to predict organizational behaviour you have to know about one"s personality as well as the setting of their work: most widely accepted approach. Trait activation theory: traits lead to certain behaviours only when the situation makes the need for the trait silent; personality influences people"s behaviour when the situation calls for a specific personality characteristic. Emotional stability/neuroticism: stable, confident vs. depressed, anxious (
