Heterozygous = when alleles in a pair of chromosomes difer from each other. Dominant = form of an allele whose chemical instrucions are followed. Recessive = alleles whose instrucions are ignored when combined w a dominant allele. Incomplete dominance = situaion where one allele doesn"t dominate completely. Inherited disorders: phenylketonuria (pku) = inherited disorder where the infant lacks a liver enzyme.
