In-class notes: amygdala is what tells you whats important to remember; separate the importance if certain memories from others that aren"t as important. Learning is possible without the amygdala, but it wont be as strong. Could be differences in genders on how emotion drives memories: flashbulb memories are memories from early childhood with clear recollection of a particular event, almost ashed by a shine of light. Emotion is a very strong driver, what we remember is re- constructed. Wednesday, march 9, 2016: clive wearing is unable to retrieve memories from his short-term memory and uses the analogy of waking up for the rst time. Anything he does/says/hears from that current moment is not remembered: (video) planted: study done on individuals to trick them into believing they"ve been on a hot air balloon in their childhood. 3 interviews took place showing photos from their childhood and some photos that have been photoshopped to show that they"re on a hot air balloon.
