Re ection on science and the swastika - in class documentary. In the documentary there seemed to be a recurring theme of doctors being the ones tasked with unthinkable atrocities in some sort of attempt to make them less horri c and somehow medically necessary. I am unsure who started this trend or why it was so proli c but to me it s absolutely diabolical. We are taught right from children to trust doctors, that they know whats best for us at that they wont hurt us. These doctors completely over stepped their role when deciding who had the right to live or die and going through with the executions. Autonomy is a basic principal that should be respected and the right to live should be at it"s foundation. The criteria used to decide who could live or die was that children under 12, pregnant women, the elderly, and the sickly were unusable for labour and were therefore exterminated.
