Knowledge and bene cence have helped shaped medical science thus far due to the increasing quest for people to know, nd out, and aspire to act for peoples good. To media science we owe the creation of countless cures, vaccines, preventions, medications, diagnostic technologies, and genetic tests. Some for our knowledge has come from darker places: During ww2 horri c testing was done on people in nazi war camps snd the doctors responsible were convicted of murder, torture, and other atrocities during the nuremberg trials. 1944-1974 us government did tests on thousands of humans of the e ects of radiation, sometimes at very high levels, and did not tell the participants of the potential harm. 1956 - researches studies the natural course of hepatitis in institutionalized children whom they infected. Now if we want to test a medical intervention we preform a clinical trial. The intervention is tested to determine it"s e ectiveness and safety in the human body.
