Document Summary

Chapter 1 - moral reasoning in bioethics - thoughts. Here, in the 21st century we seem to have a set standard of morally acceptable notions and they are widely accepted without thought. Some premises make sense if they adapted from a simpler time - sharing is good because it promotes the survival of the herd. Others make less sense to have adapted as such, such as don"t cut in line. This premie wouldn"t have made sense long ago (lets say hunter/gatherer times) because you were genuinely competing with other groups with resources. Now in the 21st century 1st world we have abundance so this premie likely developed later. It makes me wonder if that is how all moral norms were created at some point in the past. The concept of universality also makes me think. How is it possible that is whats true for one group of people is true for another.
