Article #1: why abortion is immoral by marquis. What makes killing wrong is its effect on the victim. Killing inflicts one of the greatest losses on the victim; deprives them of all the experiences, activities, projects and enjoyments they could have experienced. All those parts of the individual"s future would of, at some point, become extremely valuable to the individual as they would"ve grown older. When killed, the individual is not only deprived of what they value now, but also what they would"ve come to value. Therefore, what makes killing wrong is the loss of the victim"s valuable future: marquis produces an argument to the effect that the vast majority of abortions are seriously immoral. However, he intimates that some abortions are permissible when they occur so early in the pregnancy that a fetus is not yet definitely an individual .
