Characteristics - dsm-5 diagnostic criteria for generalized anxiety disorder: Excessive anxiety & worry that occur 6 months; worry is difficult to control; chronic condition. 3 or more of the following: restlessness or feeling keyed up or on edge, being easily fatigued, difficulty concentrating or mind going blank, muscle tension, sleep disturbance (difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, restlessness, unsatisfying sleep) Loss of functioning: anxiety, worry, or physical symptoms may cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, other important functioning areas.
