Document Summary

T-tests: a test of whether 2 means are statistically the same (ho) from 2 ways: One sample: 1 sample t test -use of a sample mean score against population mean (known value) -not complete data set. Ho : there is no significant difference between the sample mean and the population mean. H1 : there is a significant difference between the sample mean and the population mean. eg. test score scale of 1-10 given test group. Two sample: 2 different data samples to work with to compare other than the population - to see if they are the same. Seeing if two samples were taken from the same population -> statistically same as inferential statistics -is always about finding how well a sample reflects a population. Used when the independent variable is a nominal level variable with 2 levels (2 groups being compared)
