Son of zeus and danae (locked away by akrisios in a tower because of an oracle, zeus seduced her as golden rain) Her father put her and the bay in a chest at sea. Pulled ashore by diktys (netman) in seriphos and local ruler polydektes (god of death) fell in love with danae. He tried to get rid of perseus who was an obstacle to his desires, he lured. Perseus in agreeing to fetch the head of medusa one of the monstrous gorgons. The gorgons lived by the ocean and their heads had serpents, boar tusks , bronze hands and wings of gold. with the help of hermes, athene and griai perseus acquired: An unbreakable sickle, a pouch, winged sandals and a cap of invisibility. B(cid:455) looki(cid:374)g at medusa"s (cid:396)efle(cid:272)tio(cid:374) i(cid:374) a shield he aoided her stare and cut he rhead of with the sickle then put it into the pouch. He avoided the other gorgons with the cap of invisibility.
