Mycenaean has a prominent influence on greek myth. Minoan civilization of crete is another one with influence. There is a lack of minoan civilization but it is believed they had a strong influence on greek myth. The invasion of greece by persian forces generated a sense of hellenic identity. Visual images is one of the principle sources of information for greek mythology, text is the other source i. e. sculptures, wall paintings, mosaics, vase paintings and coins, engraved gemstones. Greek mythology is experienced by children from tellers such as nurses, mothers, grandmothers. Theogony- narrates the birth of gods, olympian divinities establish their power under the unchallenged dispensation of zeus.
