In developing countries: longer work hours, part-time employment = high, people work many part-time jobs, workers subject to abuses (e. g. gender-based discrimination, child labour) Immigrants increase diversity of workforce add to the managerial complexity of firms that employ them. Migration influenced by diff in cost of labour (migration of jobs to countries where labor is cheap/abundant. Outsourcing of jobs provide access to skills not available in local labor pool. Step 1) outsourcing of low-skill (manufacturing) jobs. Step 2) outsourcing of medium-sill (service) jobs. Step 3) outsourcing of high-skill (pro/knowledge) jobs. Downward pressure put on labor standards + hiring cheap labor globally => disrupts soc contract & cultural norms in host country. *following collapse of berlin wall (1989) widespread decline in centrally planned economy. **failure of state socialism = capitalism only viable economy ideology.
