Managers must apply sophisticated analysis techniques, such as porter"s strategies or forecasting, to make strategic decisions. Due to the intensely competitive global business environment, companies must offer far more than just a great product to succeed. The structure of a typical organization is similar to a pyramid. This is at the bottom of the pyramid. At this level, employees develop, control, and maintain core business activities required to run day-to-day operations. The decisions made at this level are considered structural decisions.
