Competency based analysis: assumes a static job environment where jobs are stable apart from incumbents, discounts technological advances that are accelerated, need to respond to global change alters the nature of jobs, hinders an organization"s ability to adapt to change, identify key competencies for organizational success. Job enrichment: enhancing a job by adding more meaningful tasks and duties to make the work more rewarding or satisfying: increasing difficulty and responsibility, allowing employees to have more authority/control, providing job performance reports, adding new tasks that require training, assigning specific tasks to use particular skills, more likely to succeed in some situations/jobs than others.
