When planning you should focus on your objectives, and create a plan to follow through: define your objectives - identify desired outcomes or results in very specific ways. Know where you want to go: determine where you stand vis-a-vis objectives - evaluate current accomplishments relative to the desired results, develop premises regarding future conditions - anticipate future events. Generate alternative scenarios for what may happen: analyse alternatives and make a plan - list and evaluate possible actions. Implement the plan and evaluate results - take action and carefully measure your progress toward objectives: priority oriented, action oriented, advantage oriented, changed oriented. Many times planning has to be done during hectic times. Planning has a number of benefits for the organization and individuals.
