Employee motivation: motivation represents the forces within a person that affect his/her direction, intensity and persistence of voluntary behavior. Ability: includes both the natural aptitudes and the learned capabilities required to successfully complete a task. Role perceptions: are important because they represent how well employees know where to direct their effort. Situational factors: individual behavior and performance also depend on the situation, referring to conditions beyond the employee"s immediate control that alter behavior. Chapter 2: refers to goal directs behaviors under the individuals control that support organizational objectives. Employee behavior extends beyond performing specific talks: also known as ocbs.
