Shift away from in-patient care because high rising costs of hospital & nursing home services, & tech. advances make it possible to maintain medical treatment w/ outpatients. Outpatient care ie) home care, is less expensive, ppl prefer being home. Inpatient care ie) elderly home, can be lonely: understand the canadian health care system & how it di ers from health care systems in other countries.
