Document Summary
Illusion perceived the stimulus doesn"t match its physical reality. Sensation detection of physical energy by out sense organs getting info inside us. Perception interpretation of raw sensory inputs what we doing with the info. Example: painting of flower sensation = colors perception = image. Filling-in brains reconstruct some parts and fill in empty space. Help us make sense of confusing and chaotic perceptual. Two sides of the coin: sensation and perception: Transforming sensory input (light, sound, waves, etc. ) into neural impulses our brain can interpret. The eye: how we represent the visual realm: Pupil circular hole through which light enters the eye. Cornea part of the eye containing transparent cells that focus light on the retina. Lens part of the eye that changes curvature to keep images in focus. Dark adaptation time in dark before rods regain maximum. Nearsightedness (myopia) images focused in front of rear of the eye due to cornea being too steep or eyes to long.
