Violence: action where perp regards inflicting pain, as ind intrinsic. Coercion: using violence or threat of it to undice people to act other way they normally would. Connection to off path behaviour: influenced by the potention, but not taken therefore unobserved. Can overlap w/ violence, thru use of violence. Idea that behaviour is still influenced, even by path not taken. Forms of violence where organization regularly engages. Eg. killing, torture displacement, rape, etc etc. We may see less killings from police, but we see more imprisonment. Violence against an individual b/c of allegations of behaviours. Violence against individuals without regard to behaviour, membership. Ability to do it, motivations, intentions, capability . Perp believes that they are in the right.
