Gnrh released by hypothalamus and infuses into anterior pituitary release stimulating hormones. Males and females all produce these hormones but differ in organs/quantities. Ramps up in follicle thickening of uterine lining (affect sperm mobility) Day 1: high level of fsh stimulate one follicle to produce ovulation of egg. Moa: negative feedback loop on anterior pituitary and hypothalamus to inhibit release of gonadotropin. Placebo tablet is just for you to remember taking pill every day. Absence of withdrawal period doesn"t appear to have any negative effects from literature studies up to date. Situations where it is inadvisable to be taking combined: situations where you don"t really want to be controlling or limiting estrogen e. g. breastfeeding limiting potential of producing milk, cancer known to be estrogen responsive cancers. If you are always worried about not seeing withdrawal bleeding or forget a lot, combined may be the better option. There is always a chance for theoretical drug interaction.
