Organizational behaviour: ield of study that looks at impact of individuals/groups/structure on behaviour within organization: purpose: apply such knowledge to improving org"s efectiveness, behaviour what people do in org. What do we mean by organization: organization: consciously coordinated social unit composed of group of people functions on continuous basis to achieve common goal/set of goals. Ob is for everyone: many orgs have informal leadership opportunities employees asked to move beyond traditional function of providing labour, blurs line between managers and employees, ob applies to all situations where you interact with others. Anywhere that people come together and share experiences/work on goals/meet to solve problems. More important: quality of job and supportiveness of work environment. Ob considers that orgs made up of individuals/groups/entire organizational structure: each unit represents diferent level within organization, smallest unit: individual. Each level contributes to variety of activities that occur in today"s workplace: individual level group level organization systems level.
