Andres, a mexican drug dealer, sent to jail after he is caught with possession. It was the women in his life, his mother, sister, and girlfriend, who were most affected. Reflects larger society as women often take the brunt of the pain. Women are also often forced by narco-bosses to hide stashes of money and drugs in their own homes. If they refuse their male relatives in the gang would be punished. Andres was getting beat up by guards at the prison. Paz forced to work and pay money to the guards to not beat up her son. Guards often bribed from the outside to provide basic necessities for prisoners, as these are often lacking. Narco-bosses often break out their workers from jail. Despite efforts by paz to suck up to andres" boss, he was never broken out of jail. Narco-wives do not live the glamorous lives portrayed by the media. Often live in a state of economic uncertainty.
